Bodo Uebber appointed as Chairman of the EADS Board of Directors

The EADS Board of Directors has appointed Bodo Uebber as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Uebber, who has been member of the EADS Board of Directors since 2007, has succeeded Rüdiger Grube effective 14 April 2009. Mr. Grube resigned from his current position due to his new responsibility as CEO of Deutsche Bahn.

Furthermore, the EADS Board of Directors has proposed the appointment of a new Board Member, Wilfried Porth (Member of the Management Board of Daimler AG), to fill the Board vacancy left by Mr. Grube's departure.

EADS' shareholders will be asked to confirm this appointment at their Annual General Meeting to be held on 27 May 2009.

Mr. Bodo Uebber is Chairman of EADS and has been a Member of Daimler AG’s Board of Management since 2003. He is currently responsible for finance, controlling, corporate procurement and Daimler Financial Services. In 2001, he was appointed Member of the Board of Management and Chief Financial Officer of Daimler Services AG and subsequently in 2003 Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler Services AG, as well as Deputy Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG. He previously held various financial positions within Dasa AG, Dornier Luftfahrt and
MTU Aero Engines GmbH. Mr. Uebber graduated in engineering and economics at the Technical University of Karlsruhe.

Mr. Wilfried Porth has been a Member of Daimler AG’s Board of Management since April 2009. He is currently responsible for Human Resources and for the Labour relations of the company. Since 2006, he was Executive Vice President, MB Van and prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. He previously held various engineering and management positions within the Daimler Group, including several years of experience abroad. Mr. Porth graduated in engineering at the University of Stuttgart.
