Eurofighter Diamond Formation - Eurofighter aircraft from the British squadrons 3, 17, and 29 of the Royal Air Force took to the skies over the Lincolnshire coast to perform a "Diamond Nine" formation. It was the first time that only single-seat aircraft were used in this formation, with the lead aircraft piloted by Group Captain Bob Judson. All three squadrons are based at RAF Coningsby, UK. As one of the four partner nations (Germany, Spain, Great Britain and Italy) in the largest European cooperation programme Great Britain has ordered 232 Eurofighter, plus options for 65 further aircraft. |
