Open System Software OSS

The Open System Software OSS has been designed to improve test development time and costs by permitting the use of various programming languages and the re-use of existing test procedures throughout systems or equipment test phases. Thus, EADS TEST & SERVICES testers' software environment remains the same at all stages of the system life cycle. |
Open System Software Architecture
The Open System Software OSS developed by EADS TEST & SERVICES works on a PC with a Microsoft Windows operating system. It allows the development and running of Test Programme Sets (TPS).
The OSS is composed of three layers:

Upper layer: test strategy development, sequencing of test, formatting/displaying test results,

Intermediate layer: processing test, algorithms,...,

Lower layer: driving test resources.

Upper layer
In the upper layer, OSS allows standard test sequencers and diagnostic tools such as VISUAL OSS and TestBase to be used.
Intermediate layer
These software tools are compatible with commercially available programming environments that are used in the intermediate layer: VISUAL C++, LabWindows/CVI, …. The writing of test procedures can also be done with EADS TEST & SERVICES graphic programming language (VISUAL OSS) and ATLAS programming environment.
Lower layer
The lower layer allows the interface between the ATE instrumentation and the test procedures. It is set up by EADS TEST & SERVICES Test Resource Manager TRM software, which makes test programmes fully independent from instrumentation resources.
Resources can be replaced without any test programme modification, which improves software portability and prevention against hardware obsolescence.
