EADS and ZODIAC Sign an MoU in Sourcing AreaAmsterdam / Toulouse, le 06 décembre 2002 EADS and Zodiac have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the sourcing area. This agreement is part of EADS’ global sourcing strategy that has been launched across the company. The MoU paves the way for enhanced performances in the relationship between ZODIAC as a supplier and EADS to better meet end-market requirements. Zodiac managed to secure until now more than 120 M euros of direct turnover across eight EADS Business Units. The new MoU will optimise the relationship between the two companies for the challenges of the future, such as the A380 programme, where Zodiac is also involved. The resulting improvements are cornerstones for the implementation of a “Competitive Partnership” between EADS and ZODIAC in the sourcing area. Zodiac is part of EADS top 20 Strategic Suppliers that are being managed under the EADS Competitive Partnership Scheme. The EADS sourcing strategy aims to build a long term relationship with suppliers that are willing to develop sustained, excellent performances to better meet the markets needs. Tuned to the particular end markets needs, it applies to every Business Unit of EADS. It facilitates the implementation of a deepened, privileged relationship between EADS and its best suppliers. EADS’ sourcing strategy comprises major aspects such as supplier evaluation and proactive development of performances and business along procurement policy targets and principles. “EADS has singled out ZODIAC for his existing performances and improvement capabilities that enable it to contribute to give our products the necessary competitive edge and to fully meet our customers’ satisfaction. EADS wants to encourage long-term cooperation between its business units and their best-in-class suppliers to ultimately form a new type of relationship called ‘Competitive Partnership’. This exercise has been started with key suppliers since the Singapore Airshow and will keep developing with a few more industry leaders in the next few months. We are particularly satisfied to launch this exercise with ZODIAC”, said Hans-Erich Mundt, Senior Vice President Corporate Sourcing at EADS. “ZODIAC has been a Supplier to EADS for many years, and is proud to have supported EADS in its winning efforts to become a world leader.
