On the very first day of the 2008 Avionics Maintenance Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma (USA), Avtron and EADS Test & Services signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the joint development and marketing of a power testing capability for EADS’ ATEC Series 6 automatic tester. This new capability will be developed for B787 and A350 power equipment for use by OEMs and by airlines. A power bay will be added to the existing ATEC Series 6 and equipment-specific Test Program Sets will be developed in due time to meet the needs of B787 and A350 aircraft operators. Other aircraft applications will follow.
The ATEC Series 6 of EADS Test & Services is widely used around the world by airlines, MRO companies as well as by OEMs for production and maintenance avionics testing. This universal ATE proved to be an efficient and cost-saving in-house test solution for both equipment manufacturers and aircraft operators. Now, with this additional capability, the ATEC Series 6 becomes even more universal, therefore even more economical.
Avtron’s UnivATE Test System will form the basis of the Power Extension to the ATEC Series 6, making it the most Universal test platform in the world. Avtron’s UnivATE enjoys an 85% market share in the power bus component test equipment market. This leadership role, along with Avtron’s reputation for quality, integrity and value, made selecting Avtron a clear choice for this world-class partnership.
