Carlos Suárez succeeds Francisco Fernández Sáinz as Head of the Military Transport Aircraft Division and Chairman of EADS CASA

The EADS Board of Directors has announced that Carlos Suárez (43) will succeed Francisco Fernández Sáinz (61) as Head of the Military Transport Aircraft Division (MTAD) and Chairman of EADS CASA. He will also become Member of the EADS Executive Committee. Francisco Fernández Sáinz will continue to serve the company as advisor for EADS CEOs before his retirement.

Carlos Suárez will take up the new responsibility with effect from 1 July 2007. He is currently Head of Military Derivative Programmes of Airbus Platforms at MTAD. He joined CASA in 1989. Mr. Suárez has been closely involved in the A400M and tanker programmes and has significant international business experience.

Mr. Fernandez Sáinz joined CASA in 1971 as a Stress Engineer. Between 1975 and 2002 he occupied various positions in engineering and programmes area in CASA and finally as Airbus España General Manager before being nominated as Head of the Military Transport Aircraft Division and member of EADS Executive Committee in 2002.
