Mexican Aircraft Sales Representative named

Paris Air Show, 18 June 2003

EADS Socata is pleased to announce today a Sales Representation Agreement signed between LAATSA and EADS Socata. EADS Socata has appointed LAATSA as its Aircraft Sales Representative in Mexico. LAATSA will be responsible for marketing and selling the Socata TB GT & TBM 700 ranges of aircraft.

LAATSA, Latin American Training Aviation SA was incorporated in Cancun on April 2002, to represent aviation companies in Latin America. Among its customers is WFS, a world’s leader in the cargo terminal management. LAATSA is also actively promoting the creation in Mexico of a Training Center for airliners.

Frédéric Garcia, General Director of Laatsa said, «EADS Socata is a leader in the General Aviation business and part of the EADS group. LAATSA is delighted to be associated with such a partner. Our company knows there is an existing market for the TBM 700 and foresees a good number of sales opportunities in Mexico where the majority of aircraft in service averaged more than 25 years. Our company is evaluating the needs of various flight schools and has made offers for TB GT aircraft. Our company is also planning to propose the Socata Aircraft as an alternative for their surveillance missions.» « By this agreement EADS Socata will be present on the Mexican market whose Business aviation fleet is the second in the world. Thanks to its performance well suited for Mexican aeronautical conditions —long distance flights city-to-city, high altitude airports and high temperatures leader — the TBM 700 offers an alternative choice to the entry-level jets. » Commented Jacques Lordon, Vice President Sales & Marketing of EADS Socata.

« On the occasion of a TBM 700 demo Tour in Toluca, the business aviation dedicated airport of Mexico City, which is 8,448 ft high, we were able to demonstrate that the TBM 700 can take off in 2,700 ft with six persons in board. While a Learjet 25 needs 6,000 ft with only 4 persons on board for a direct operating cost 4 times superior. We got confirmation that the TBM 700 has the appropriate range performance to meet the needs of Mexican businessmen enabling classic liaison flights such as Mexico City – Miami. On another hand we have identified in Mexico numerous missions which can be fulfilled by our range aircraft such as flight training, surveillance as well as private or business flying.» Further explained Mr. Lordon.
