Philippe CAMUS and Rainer HERTRICH, co-CEOs of EADS European Aeronautic, Defence and Space Company has appointed Pierre-Henri RICAUD General Secretary of EADS.
He succeeds General Secretary Jean-Marie MIR who is retiring and has greatly contributed to the EADS merger and to the preceding Aerospatiale Matra merger especially in terms of team integration. Pierre-Henri RICAUD will supervise the Corporate operations and act as secretary for the Executive Committee and EADS board. He will also be in charge of stimulating the group's dynamism and providing resources to EADS central functions.
Pierre-Henri RICAUD was born on 25th March 1955 He was graduated Major of Ecole Polytechnique in 1974 - Ingénieur des Mines.
In 1980 Pierre-Henri RICAUD joined the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) as Head of the ARIANE general studies department.
In 1984 he joined Lagardère Group (Matra Espace) and was appointed Ariane 5 / HERMES Project Manager for the avionics system.
In 1988 he became Deputy Manager of the Matra Défense air-to-air missile programmes before being appointed President of the APACHE/MAW economic interest group (GIE) in 1991, DASA and Matra Défense joint structure.
In 1992 he joined the Corporate Strategy of Lagardère Group to negotiate the setting up of Matra BAe Dynamics which he joined in 1996 as Strategy and Plan Director until 1999 when, within the Aerospatiale Matra Headquarter, he participated in all merger operations before being appointed as General Secretary of EADS on 1st September 2000. Pierre-Henri RICAUD is married and father of 6 children (3 boys and 3 girls).
