4th European : Socata & Morane-Saulnier Fly-In

Tarbes, 27 July 2000

Following a well-established tradition started 4 years ago, the Customer Services Department of Socata invites all pilots and owners of Socata & Morane-Saulnier (former name of Socata) aircraft to a Fly-In gathering at its manufacturing facility on Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport. It will take place on the week-end of September 9 & 10 th, 2000.

Following a well-established tradition started 4 years ago, the Customer Services Department of Socata invites all pilots and owners of Socata & Morane-Saulnier (former name of Socata) aircraft to a Fly-In gathering at its manufacturing facility on Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport. It will take place on the week-end of September 9 & 10 th, 2000. Numerous activities will be offered to participants : presentation of the new TB Generation Two, demo flights, technical briefings, commercial exhibits, and a discovery of the fabulous local gastronomy with a dinner at Chateau-Montus, fine wineyard. Attention reservation for this activity is mandatory.

To encourage those who maintain flying relics of the Morane-Saulnier history, prizes will be awarded to the crew of the ten most magnificent vintage aircraft dressed with the appropriate flying suit. They will receive as well fuel supply. A list of possible accomodations will be available on request at Customer services services. The 4th European Socata & Morane-Saulnier Fly-in will be also the occasion to visit the Socata facilities were are built not only the TB and TBM but also airframe parts for Airbus, Dassault, Eurocopter, etc.

The previous Fly-In attracted last year more than 300 visitors and 60 planes .

Socata Aircraft is a wholly owned subsidiary of Socata Aerospatiale Matra and manufactures a complete line of single engine aircraft including; the fixed gear 160 hp Tampico GT Sprint; 180 hp Tobago GT; and the 200 hp Tobago GT; the retractables 250 hp & 250 hp turbocharged Trinidad GT and the TBM700 single engine turboprop.
