Dr. Jean J. Botti, born on 14 April 1957, is Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of EADS and a member of the EADS Executive Committee.

Prior to assuming this position, Botti served as business line executive Powertrain and executive director Fuel Cells with Delphi Corporation.

Botti began his career in 1989 at Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems as a staff project engineer for the former Saginaw Europe. In the same year, Botti moved to the United States on an international service assignment as staff engineer at the divisional headquarters in Saginaw, Michigan.

In 1992, Botti returned to France and was named chief engineer of Delphi Saginaw’s European operations. In 1997, he became the director of the Customer Solution Center and director of European engineering for Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. In 2002, he managed the newly created Corporate Dynamics & Propulsion Innovation Center as the Chief Technologist.

Botti holds 11 patents and four defensive publications for his work at Delphi. He also holds 11 patents outside of Delphi.

Jean J. Botti graduated from I.N.S.A. Toulouse in 1986 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also earned a masters degree in business administration from Central Michigan University in 1991, and went on to earn a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers, Paris in 1995.

He was awarded the General Motors President Council Award in 1998 and has been elected to the rank of Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He is a member of various engineering and technology societies, and the Centre National Recherche Technologique (CNRT) in Belfort, France.
