In 1998, the Willy Messerschmitt Hangar was inaugurated at the Manching site. Here, under a single roof, are gathered the best-known aircraft developed by Professor Messerschmitt, including the M17, Me 108, Me 109, HA 200 and HA 300. Some of these planes are still airworthy. The collection pays tribute to the lifetime achievement of this famous aircraft designer and is the result of a collaborative effort between EADS and the Messerschmitt foundation.
