Communicating in the Field

EADS radio communication solutions can make field work more efficient and even save lives.

For example, using voice communications, fire and rescue services can:

  • Use group communication to share information
  • Use direct mode communication to stay in touch outside network coverage
  • Use the radio like a mobile phone

Data brings added efficiency

Data communication makes it possible to:

  • Replace routine voice calls with a standard message
  • Send and receive addresses and other important information as text
  • Access information from databases while on the move. This can include information on hazardous substances or the plans of a building.

Working together with other organisations

In the past, each emergency service would have its own network. This did not help during operations which required co-operation from different agencies.

Digital networks allow different authorities to communicate with each other. This promotes closer co-operation, improves efficiency, and can save lives.
