EADS N.V. - EADS Defence & Security finalizes the deployment of the first Tetrapol digital radio network in the Republic of Belarus

The first phase of the Tetrapol Radio Communication System project for the oil transport enterprise GomelTransNeft DRUZHBA has been achieved in the Republic of Belarus. The project was realized via joint efforts from Professional Radio Systems Ltd., which was responsible for the system design, engineering, construction and the equipment installation and Roosis Holdings Ltd, which was the System Equipment Supplier to the republic of Belarus. All the project solutions have been implemented on the base of EADS Tetrapol equipment, provided by EADS Secure Networks, an integrated Line of Business of EADS Defence & Security (DS).

The core of the project was to cover the southern part of the DRUZHBA pipeline with a modern and reliable digital technological radio communication. This provides a constant control of the telemetric and mechanical equipment of the pipeline, its safety and integrity, and enables the DRUZHBA personnel to respond in emergency case situations.

The deployed Tetrapol trunked radio system organizes the mobile radio communication efficiently, allowing several user groups to access independently the network. The system also provides data transmission. One application is the automatic tracking of vehicles within the network coverage. Other essential features include the interfaces to the PABX, the office computer network and the control centre in Gomel with its subsystems for control of various types of DRUZHBA telecommunication equipment.

The next step will be a high-quality trunked digital radio communication coverage of the entire southern branch of the GomelTransNeft DRUZHBA pipeline starting from the Russian border to Poland. This project has become the right platform for the further development of the current DRUZHBA enterprise infrastructure and has given new opportunities to implement modern solutions on telemetry, security and video monitoring.

Republican Unitary Enterprise on Oil Transport “GomelTransNeft “DRUZHBA” is a giant enterprise with the magistral pipeline as its core which exports the oil from East to Ukraine and EU countries.
