Multimission Ground Segments,
the key to network centric operations

The new requirements of Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations show the growing importance of network centric information and the need for highly interoperable systems. EADS is developing a new concept of Generic Ground Segment (GGS) to meet armed forces’ needs for time-critical intelligence gathering and processing in a multi-mission and multi-sensor context. Its open-system architecture makes the integration of GGS into a network centric environment easier. Strong communication links, together with appropriate data fusion and adequate data dissemination systems, ensure prompt and accurate information delivery to all relevant decision-makers.

Satellite and airborne ground segments
EADS know-how has been proven over the last twenty years throughout major national and international programmes: Based on the unique reliability of EADS’ geometric, radiometric and quality control processes, around 50 digital geographic data production systems (OPTIMAP) are operational worldwide.
EADS supplies and supports a complete range of ground segments for theatre and tactical UAVs, reconnaissance aircraft and satellite imagery with over 400 operating stations in service worldwide.
ASRO-X system illustrates EADS’ advanced technology concepts on real-time fusion and dissemination of data acquired through multiple space-borne, airborne and groundbased sensors.
