The European consortium ATR (Avions de Transport Régional) announced today the signature of two services contracts with customer airlines Binter Canarias (Spain) and Air Deccan (India). The total value is estimated at 21 million USD.
Binter Canarias, based in the Canary Islands, is a long-standing ATR customer, operating a fleet of 13 ATR 72s. The contract signed with this airline covers the repair and overhaul of all the ATR rotables and propellers, for a period of 4 years.
Air Deccan, a start-up regional airline based in Bangalore, India has selected the services offered by ATR for the beginning of their operations with 4 ATR 42-320s. The contract includes a lease stock of rotables and the repair & overhaul of all major equipment (engine, propeller, and landing gear) as well as of all rotables, for a period of 5 years.
Roberto Bellino, SVP Customer Services of ATR is "delighted by the signature of these contracts with two important customers". He adds "they demonstrate the flexibility and the high adaptability of our range of services which can respond to the needs of established operators as well as start-up ones".
To date ATR has signed similar Services contracts with 16 operators covering a total of 70 aircraft. Since the beginning of the programme ATR has sold 673 aircraft world wide (372 ATR 42s and 301 ATR 72s). The ATR is operated by 113 airlines in 73 countries.
