Toulouse, 07 July 2006

Airbus, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer by deliveries, will have two aircraft participating in flying displays at the 45th Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom (17th –23rd July). It will have the A380, the world's most advanced passenger aircraft, as well as the second largest aircraft in its fleet, the A340-600 long-range wide body.

The aircraft types underscore Airbus' record of innovation and represent the most modern and advanced range of passenger aircraft in the world.

The A380 MSN001 aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines will take part in the flying displays every day. Together with three more development aircraft involved in the test flight programme, they have notched up over 1,560 flight hours and 1,070 take offs so far. The A340-600 will also take part in air displays.

Airbus has a hospitality chalet (D5-9) and a 600 square metre stand (Hall 4 - A13) featuring Airbus aircraft family as well as cabin concepts and visions based on innovation and future trends. The A380 and A320 cabins will be highlighted with mock-ups. 100 square metres will also be dedicated to Airbus military, featuring the A400M and other military Airbus versions.

On Monday, 17th July, Airbus will hold a press conference at the Farnborough Press Centre between 11.00 and 12.45.
