EADS-PZL to be featured on CNBC Television

EADS-PZL will be featured in a short CNBC television documentary about Polish industry in general. The program is due to be broadcast on European television in 2004 and is planned to coincide with Poland’s entry into the EU in May. The CNBC film crew visited the EADS-PZL factory in December to film the much improved production facilities where subassemblies such as wings, loading doors, seats and electric harnesses are produced for the CASA C-295. Other footage includes the aircraft production line for the WILGA, KRUK and ORLIC aircraft which are the leading aircraft designed and manufactured by EADS-PZL. The crew were also allowed to film the prototype PZL-130 TC-II ORLIC undergoing initial ground and flight testing, it is expected that this aircraft will replace the existing TC-I ORLIC currently in operation with the Polish Air Force as an advanced trainer.
In an interview with CNBC regarding the history of the Polish aviation industry and its future in the EU, Mr. Carlos Navarro, President of EADS-PZL, expressed his enthusiasm at being the head of the oldest aircraft manufacturer in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe. Poland’s entry into the European Union can be seen as a major step forward for its aviation industry and will allow the industry to develop relations with other European aircraft manufacturers and generate a closer working relationship to improve production and sales.
