Ralph D. Crosby, Jr.

Ralph D. Crosby, Jr. is Chairman and CEO of EADS North America, the Washington-based unit of the global aerospace and defense company EADS, and member of the EADS Executive Committee. Mr. Crosby will assume leadership of EADS' North American activities and his seat on the Executive Committee for EADS on September 1, 2002.

Previously, Mr. Crosby was President of the Integrated Systems Sector at Northrop Grumman Corporation, a position he held since establishing the Sector in 1998. Prior to that role, Mr. Crosby was Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the company's Commercial Aircraft Division and Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the B-2 Division.

Joining Northrop Grumman in 1981 as Special Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Marketing and Technology, Mr. Crosby was named Executive Director of the company's Washington Office in 1983. In 1985 he was promoted to Vice President and Manager of the Washington Office. He joined the B-2 Division in 1991 as Vice President for Business and Advanced Systems Development and was elected Corporate Vice President and General Manager in 1994. He was named General Manager of the Commercial Aircraft Division in 1996.

Prior to his business career, Mr. Crosby served as an officer in the U.S. Army with duty in Germany, Vietnam and the United States. In his last assignment he was Military Staff Assistant to the Vice President of the United States.

Mr. Crosby was born in Greenville, S.C. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, a master's degree in international relations in 1976 from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland and a master's degree in public administration in 1977 from Harvard University.

Mr. Crosby is responsible for overseeing EADS activities in the United States with the objective of expanding the company's business in all elements of this critical defense and aerospace market.
