EADS: Trigat on its way to industrial production

EADS regrets the decision taken by the British MOD which, obviously, was not only driven by new military requirements.

Farnborough, le 28  juillet  2000

EADS points out that the TRIGAT programme has achieved all relevant development goals and is completely under control. Industry demonstrated utmost flexibility, including innovative financing schema to move Trigat from a successful development phase into industrial production, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) said others partners to the programme are Germany, France and Belgium. The development of this programme is nearing completion and is fully under control. The missile technical evolutions were aimed at improving the system's consistency in line with the Armed Forces requirements. It is to be noted that the geostrategic situation has changed in Europe and abroad and that the system was adapted consequently.

For Thomas Enders, Head of EADS Defence and Civil Systems, "EADS, which has a world leading position in guided missile-systems, hopefuls to keep Trigat programme active. We are convinced that we developed a superb product, highly versatile and effective in future military scenarios".
