With definite identification and clear rules configuration management gives the base for success of complex products within manufacturing industries. Key success factors are cost minimisation and customers' satisfaction. The workshop provides scenarios in order to experience how Configuration Managers insure product quality in the product development process.
Based on realistic examples participants will design rules for the success of a product. Thereby configuration management has to be viewd as framework to keep projects in the magical triangle (time, cost and quality).
In times of cost reduction and continuously growing requirements of the product quality adequately documented methods help to meet the challenges. Based on the general rules of the CM II standard, participants will contribute in developping principles of the CM II change management process.
