Le Bourget, 15 June 2005

Vietnam Airlines becomes a new airline Customer of the ATEC Series 6:

Vietnam Airlines and EADS Test & Services have signed a contract on Wednesday at the Paris air show. The contract volume is € 3.5 million for an ATEC Series 6 test bench and associated test programs for the maintenance of their Airbus A320, A321 and Boeing 777 fleets. The test station will be delivered to Vietnam Airlines’ maintenance shop in Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport. Delivery is planned for the end of the year. Vietnam Airlines is currently the fastest growing airline in Asia; this acquisition will provide Vietnam Airlines with the maintenance capabilities in line with its expansion strategy.

Vietnam Airlines becomes a new ATEC Series 6 Customer and joins the worldwide ATEC Users community: to date, a total of 484 testers of the ATEC family – of which 246 ATEC Series 6 - have been sold throughout the world to airlines, maintenance organizations, equipment manufacturers, military organizations and armed forces. The ATEC Series 6 has become the world leading tester for civil avionics in service with the majority of airlines.

EADS Test & Services has recently adapted the ATEC Series 6 for testing A380 equipment: new technologies (AFDX, Ethernet) needed for testing modular avionics have been incorporated and the ATEC Series 6 is proposed for the maintenance of the new Airbus super jumbo.

EADS Test & Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the EADS Group. It is attached to the Business Unit ‘Services’ within the Defence and Security Division.

The company has been supplying test solutions to airlines and maintenance organizations world-wide for over thirty years and is the world leader in automatic test for civil avionics. Based in France in Toulouse and in Vélizy near Paris, EADS Test & Services is reinforcing its presence in Europe: after the takeover of Racal Instruments UK, it now has locations in the UK, Germany and Spain plus a global distribution network.
