Appointments within EADS Space DivisionAmsterdam, 05 March 2003
Hervé Guillou (47) is appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of EADS LAUNCH VEHICLES, a subsidiary of EADS, with effect from 15 March 2003. One of his first tasks, in association with Astrium Space Infrastructure, will be to bring to a successful conclusion the creation of the future launch vehicle and orbital structures company as part of the reorganisation of EADS Space Division. Hervé Guillou has been General Manager of Technicatome since 1996 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Principia. Prior to that he occupied a range of project management posts within the Naval Construction Directorate (DCN) before being appointed Director of the Private Office of the French National Armement Director. Between 1993 and 1996, he was in London head of the international Horizon Joint Project office. Hervé Guillou is an Ingénieur Général de l’Armement, a graduate of the French Polytechnics High School and of the High National School of Advanced Technologies (ENSTA) and of the High National Institute for Nuclear Technologies (INSTN). Philippe Couillard (57) is appointed Chief Technical Officer of EADS Space Division with effect from 15 March 2003. His primary task will be to implement a reorganisation of engineering activities, and to improve the management of programmes and major risks. From 1999 he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aerospatiale Launchers and in July 2000 he became President & Chief Executive Officer of EADS LAUNCH VEHICLES. He joined the CNES in 1970 where he occupied successively the posts of System Manager for the Ariane 1 project, head of the Spot 1 project and Director of Manned Flight; he joined Aerospatiale in 1989. From 1992 to 1994, he was Managing Director of Euro-Hermespace. Philippe Couillard is a graduate of the French Polytechnics High School and of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique (ENSAE).
