EFW receives extension of approval as Design Organisation from LBA / JAA

EADS EFW has received a major extension of the approval as Design Organisation from German Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) and European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA).
The approval was issued according JAR21 Subpart JA which enables EFW to design and to certify aircraft modifications as well as to obtain Supplemental Type Certificates for major modifications. These design works comprise modifications of cabin interiors and cargo compartments on narrowbody, widebody and long-range Airbus aircraft.
EFW (Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH), based in Dresden, Germany, is the core center for Airbus passenger to freighter conversion within EADS as well as the responsible partner for the production of fibre-reinforced furnishing components for the Airbus family of aircraft.
