Cryo Upper Stage System Test Engineer

The tasks to be performed by the job holder encompasses work in the following areas:
1) Upper Stage System Test Engineering tasks
- Overall coordination of interdisciplinary Upper Stage System Test Engineering
- Support to the establishment and governance of the overall Upper Stage Test Logic
- Review and coherence checks of Upper Stage Test Plans w.r.t. the Upper Stage Test Logic
- Analyses of requirements and functions from launcher, stage and subsystems / equipments
- Elaboration of dedicated test Upper Stage Fueling and Hotfiring bench requirements
- Elaboration of Upper Stage Fueling and Hotfiring Test Bench Specification (SIE) and evaluation of potential Upper Stage Fueling and Hotfiring Test facilities w.r.t. the SIE and performance of the test bench trade-off
- Participation / organisation of dedicated working groups
Further job enhancements (e.g., preparation of test campaigns) are envisaged in the course of the Upper Stage Development.
2) System Engineering tasks
- Contribution to interface and technical specifications for stage and subsystems
- Review of results and analyses from different disciplines
- Performance of interdisciplinary syntheses, calculations and estimates
- Establishment of technical documents containing analyses and design results and presentation of results
- Contribution to the establishment of the upper stage development plan
- Contribution to the establishment of Definition File and Justification File
- Verification of documents concerning coherence with each other
3) Technical coordination
- Technical definition, coordination and control of work performed in Competence Centre departments
- Technical control and supervision of work performed by subcontractors involved in stage designs
- Ensuring technical coherence between the technical specifications, resulting designs and justifications at relevant levels
4) Programmatics
- Contribution to planning of development projects and to performance of schedule and cost analyses
- Contribution to establishment of proposals for upper stage and the associated technologies

English : Negotiation level
German : Negotiation level
University degree in appropriate subject (e.g. Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical engineering)
At least 10 years experience in space industry (preferably in launcher technical development or production with a focus on upper stage, sub-system or system tests)
Interdisciplinary technical knowledge
Experience in establishment of technical documentation and presentation of results
Experience in project programmatics (planning, costs, proposals)
Ability to work in team and in a transnational organisation (Germany + France)
