EADS and the BCI group sign a License Agreement on Mobility technologies

Amsterdam, 03 April 2007

EADS and the BCI group, an independent software engineering and mobility solutions provider, have signed a License Agreement concerning all Mobility technologies developed by the companies of the BCI group. This Agreement will allow EADS to complement its own Mobility technologies portfolio and to integrate the new technologies into its full product range.

“Mobility will impact almost all human activities in the medium and long term”, said Jean Botti, Chief Technical Officer of EADS. “For EADS the field of Mobility is a strategic opportunity and therefore we wish to play a significant role in this area. With this License agreement, EADS prepares proactively the technological transformation that Mobility in all its forms will bring.”

With the help of the new technologies EADS is improving further its product technological performances. Aeronautic platforms (aircraft, helicopters, UAV) or terrestrial and maritime security solutions but also other applications linked to the use of satellite data and to imagery for instance infotainment, healthcare or general transportation will benefit from these technologies.

This technological integration offers also new growth potentials to all the players involved in sectors linked to geolocalised service applications. EADS will thus be able to develop new partnerships, if appropriate, with other industrial players making them benefit from integrated tools, favouring quick and efficient development of these new services.

EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services. In 2006, EADS generated revenues of € 39.4 billion and employed a workforce of about 116,000. The Group includes the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the world's largest helicopter supplier Eurocopter and EADS Astrium, the European leader in space programmes from Ariane to Galileo. EADS is the major partner in the Eurofighter consortium, develops the A400M military transport aircraft, and holds a stake in the joint venture MBDA, the international leader in missile systems.
