Set up in 1977 as Regional Headquarters of the Eurocopter Group, Eurocopter South East Asia (ESEA) has been present in the region for 29 years. Based in Singapore, ESEA is responsible for the distribution and after-sales support of the entire range of Eurocopter aircraft for the region. Eurocopter in Indonesia – Three decades of success
With a track record of more than 150 aircraft either built under license or delivered in Indonesia until today, the legendary BO105 and Puma family helicopters contributed to Eurocopter’s strong brand recognition in the country, especially in the segments Offshore, Air Taxi and Law Enforcement. Leading the Indonesian marketIn Fiscal Year 2005, considering in-service helicopter fleets, Eurocopter accounted for 41 percent of the military and 46 percent of the civil and parapublic market in Indonesia. Latest success is the recent purchase of a new Dauphin AS365 N3 by the Indonesian National Police. To be delivered in December 2006, this is the first AS365 N3 in Indonesia. It will be used for police missions such as patrolling as well as rescue and surveillance. ESEA has successfully entered the private sector, having delivered the first EC135 for VIP transport and EC130 for agricultural missions in Indonesia. With 80 percent of the country’s helicopter fleet in service being older than 20 years, Eurocopter anticipates a market demand of about 40 new helicopters in the next five to ten years. In terms of customer support activity, ESEA is also actively engaged in services such as maintenance, inspection, retrofit and sale of spare parts to customers in the region. Full mission support as turnkey solution for the Asian-Pacific region
This year, ESEA is strongly promoting support contracts of a new and distinctive nature: that of a turnkey solution. With this new support concept, ESEA shows a global commitment on the availability of the aircraft and/or mission equipment. For the customer this is more efficient than a service package merely focused on repair or overhaul. ESEA employs 110 people in Singapore with most of them highly qualified in aeronautics skills. Strong IT focus for optimal customer handlingBeing based in Singapore, a country with a high reactivity to E-services, ESEA has always had a strong IT focus. With a dedicated server operated by specially trained engineers in France, direct interconnection with Eurocopter HQ’s ERP system and spares ordering enables the company to deal technically and commercially in ‘Real Time’ with its local and regional customers. Web applications, e-commerce initiatives, e-technical service, e-procurement, MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) e-service and status tracking were also specifically developed and implemented to this end. ESEA plans to continue to expand its array of IT initiatives in its operations in the coming years to offer real-time value and satisfaction, through multi-channel communications and services to their customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
