For near 40 years CILAS (Compagnie Industrielle des Lasers), a subsidiary of EADS-ST (63% shareholding) and AREVA (37% shareholding) , has been a leader in high technology products. Strong of its unique laser devices expertise in Europe, CILAS develops and produces all kind of laser products for various application from military products to scientific program, or industrial application.
CILAS headquarter counts 200 employees and is located in Orleans (an hour south of Paris). CILAS business volume totals 27,6 millions Euro, split in 76% domestic market, and 24% export market with a civil to military market share ratio of 30% to 70% respectively.
In order to better serve its customer needs, CILAS is organised into three departments, each of them with their own domain of expertise for a high reactivity and business competitiveness.

Military program office (DPM : Direction des programmes militaires) designs, develops and produces high performances laser range finders and designators, stand alone or integrated either on terrestrial, aerial or naval platforms.
DPM product ranges also include unique optical and laser LIDAR detection systems for gas, chemical or biological particles detection as well as top of the art helicopter landing assistance devices. -
Commercial program office (DPCO: Direction des programmes commerciaux) offers services and products related to various activities such as particle size analyser to measure industrial powder; opto-mechanical equipment and devices for scientific or industrial usage; optical surface treatment and coating; measurement benches; adaptive optics for industrial lasers and astronomy optics for the Very Large Telescope (VLT).

CEA program office (DPC : la Direction des Programmes du Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique) provides to French DOE two major components of the Megajoule Laser Program: amplifiers and adaptive optics.
