Air Madagascar takes delivery of a new ATR 72-500

Air Madagascar, the national carrier of the Republic of Madagascar, took delivery of its second new ATR 72-500 aircraft, this morning, at Dubai Air Show where it is displayed until November 24.
Equipped with the “Elegance” cabin and the newest technological innovations in the field of communications and navigation aid tools, this aircraft is part of the order unveiled at Paris Air Show 2005 (2 ATR 72-500 et 1 ATR 42-500).
The delivery ceremony took place on the static with Berend Bruns, Chief Executive Officer of Air Madagascar and Filippo Bagnato, Chief Executive Officer of ATR.
The first aircraft was delivered in Toulouse, on November 10, and then arrived in Madagascar on November 14, carrying a cargo of humanitarian goods. This operation was made possible thanks to the support of Air Madagascar and the French GNO Aviation Sans Frontières (ASF).
With these new aircraft, the airline will benefit from a fuel-efficient technology, maintaining its fleet up to date with the latest standards of comfort for its customers and capability to grow with the market.
Since the beginning of the programme, ATR delivered 686 aircraft (381 ATR 42s and 305 ATR 72s).
