ATR Aircraft Accident

Toulouse, 06  August  2005

ATR received the confirmation of the accident of the ATR 72-202 aircraft MSN 258 operated by Tuninter off the Palerma coast this afternoon with 35 passengers on board plus 4 crew members.

ATR regrets that there were some fatilities and expresses its sincere condelences to the victims' families.

This aircraft delivered in 1992 has logged 29 710 hours flight time and 34 790 cycles, end of May 2005.

The investigation is under the responsibility of Italian authorities with the support of french authorities. ATR is providing full technical and industrial support to the investigating authorities for determining the causes of the accident.
