EADS PZL “Warszwa-Okęcie” S.A. wish to pay their respects to a good friend and colleague Mr. Ryszard Leja who passed away on Wednesday 17th March following a long battle with illness .
Ryszard Leja had been with PZL “Warszwa-Okęciee” S.A. since 1972 where he started as a young pilot with their agricultural aviation division working in Egypt, Sudan, Syria, Spain . Ryszard built a reputation as the guy who could arrange the impossible, and over the years his great enthusiasm and energy for the Polish aviation industry did not go unnoticed. In 1989 he was appointed as president of PZL “Waszawa-Okecie” S.A. were he became the driving force behind the factory for many years until the take-over by EADS CASA in 2001 in which Ryszard played a key role in the negotiations with the Spanish company.
Ryszard was highly respected throughout the aviation industry and will be sadly missed.
