EADS confirms Announcement of Third Quarter Results on 4th November

EADS (stock exchange symbol: EAD), the world’s second largest aerospace and defence group, will update its guidance and expects to raise its 2004 EBIT* target on 4th November when it reports its third quarter results. Currently, EADS is conducting its full year forecast review. This will include a further increase in aircraft deliveries from its Airbus commercial aircraft business. EADS last raised its 2004 EBIT* target to about € 2.1 billion on July 29, when the company published its half year results.
Airbus’ delivery forecast for 2005 and beyond is currently under review in the ongoing operative planning process and will only be announced at a later stage. The EADS Board has made no decision on a new aircraft programme to address possible future demand in the 250-seater aircraft range, nor on any funding requirements that might be associated with such a programme.
EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services. In 2003, EADS generated revenues of € 30.1 billion and employed a workforce of about 109,000. The EADS Group includes the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the world's largest helicopter supplier Eurocopter and the joint venture MBDA, the second largest missile producer in the global market. EBIT
*EADS uses EBIT pre goodwill amortization and exceptionals as a key indicator to measure the economic performance of the Group and its Segments. The term “exceptionals” refers to income or expenses of a non-recurring nature, such as amortization expenses of fair value adjustments relating to the EADS merger, the Airbus combination and the formation of MBDA, as well as impairment charges.
