The EADS Board of Directors has appointed Michel Freuchet (51) as new CEO of EADS Sogerma Services. Previously Head of “Competence Center - Manufacturing Integration” for EADS Space Transportation, he will take up this responsibility with effect from 1 November 2004. He will replace Yves Richard (59) at this position, who has decided to retire.
Rainer Hertrich, EADS CEO and Head of the Aeronautics Division expressed his appreciation of Yves Richard’s contribution: “Yves Richard has played a major role in the development of EADS global support, cabin equipment and modification for civil and military aircraft. We are grateful for his accomplishments in a very difficult market environment during the first four years of EADS. Among his achievements, we will retain: the development of activities for cabin equipment on long range aircraft and business jets, the internationalization of EADS Sogerma Services Group, from which 25% of the employees are located out of France, including in the USA (Lake Charles, LA – Miami, FL), in North Africa (Morocco and Tunisia) and in Asia (Hong-Kong - China), and the long term positioning of aerostructures activities, especially on A380 and A400M programs.”
Rainer Hertrich added: “We are very confident that Michel Freuchet will successfully lead EADS Sogerma Services through the future challenges and will turn EADS Sogerma Services into one of the most competitive companies on the market place.”
