EADS NORTH AMERICA EXECUTIVE RECIPIENT OF HERITAGE AWARD

  • Lt. General (Ret.) Charles Coolidge Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to Ohio Area Community

Lt. General (Ret.) Charles Coolidge, Vice President of Air Force Programs, EADS North America, has been nominated and selected as this year’s recipient of the Heritage Award. The award is presented at the Wright Brothers Heritage Benefit by the Wright Memorial Chapter of the Air Force Association (AFA) based in Dayton, Ohio whose purpose is to foster community relations between Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Greater Miami Valley.

Lt. General (Ret.) Coolidge will be honored at the Heritage Benefit Gala on September 9, in Fairborn, Ohio. Past recipients of the Heritage award include other Generals of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, including General Lester Lyles and Lt. General James Abrahamson and General Lawrence A. Skantze.

Lt. Gen. Coolidge (Ret.) has an extensive and distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, spanning 36 years of service. Prior to joining EADS North America, he served from February 2000 to November 2003 as Vice Commander, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Throughout his career, he served in various operations and staff positions, including Squadron Commander, Wing Vice Commander, Wing Commander, and Director of Operations and Logistics. During his military career, Coolidge commanded three Air Force wings and served on the staffs of four major air commands. He also served on the Joint Staff as the Joint Staff representative to the U.S. – U.S.S.R. Standing Consultative Commission.

The Heritage award recognizes Wright-Patterson Air Force Base personnel selected by their peers for outstanding performance and achievements over the past year. In his capacity with the Heritage Benefit, Coolidge served as an advisor, who oversaw various community initiatives including an educational fund, and cultural works program.
