EADS NORTH AMERICA ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF LIEUTENANT GENERAL (RETIRED) CHARLES COOLIDGE, JR. AS VICE PRESIDENT OF AIR FORCE PROGRAMS

EADS North America has announced the appointment of Air Force Lieutenant General (Ret.) Charles Coolidge, Jr. as Vice President of Air Force Programs. In this newly established position, he will oversee all marketing and business development activities with the U.S. Air Force.   Gen. Coolidge will be located in the Washington D.C. headquarters of EADS North America.

Crosby, Jr., Chairman and CEO, EADS North America, and member of the EADS Executive Committee. “His extensive experience and knowledge base within the U.S. Air Force and especially within the Air Mobility and Materiel Commands will provide valuable expertise and insight as we develop a competitive long-term strategy in support of U.S. defense programs.”

Gen. Coolidge has an extensive and distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, spanning 36 years of service. Immediately prior to joining EADS North America, he served since February 2000 as Vice Commander, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Throughout his career, he served in various operations and staff positions, including Squadron Commander, Wing Vice Commander, Wing Commander, and Director of Operations and Logistics. During his military career, Coolidge commanded three Air Force wings and served on the staffs of four major air commands. He also served on the Joint Staff as the Joint Staff representative to the U.S. – U.S.S.R. Standing Consultative Commission.  

Gen. Coolidge’s brings experience from his positions as Flight Commander, Operations Officer and Commander of the 911th Air Refueling Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina, Strategic Policy Planner in the Nuclear Negotiations Division of the Joint Staff, as Commander of the 301st Air Refueling Wing, Vice Commander of the Tanker Airlift Control Center at Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Commander of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing and 375th Airlift Wing, Director of Operations at the Headquarters Air Education and Training Command at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas, and Director of Operations and Logistics for J3/J4 U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base.

Charles Coolidge is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and earned a Master’s degree in Physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He also attended the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base and the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C.

Military honors include: The Defense Distinguished and Distinguished Service Medals, the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Defense Meritorious and Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with three service stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.
