Toulouse, 17  September  2004

The Spanish carrier Binter Canarias took delivery of an ATR 72-500 on 17 September, in Toulouse. This aircraft has a 72-seat configuration and is the fourth of the 6 ATR 72-500s ordered in January 2004.

It is equipped with the new “Elegance” cabin, a concept which has been developed to further enhance the level of comfort for the passengers on the ATR family of aircraft.

Binter Canarias was founded in March 1988. It operates on the Canarian inter-island network. Binter Canarias’ annual traffic accounts for more than 2,4 million passengers, performing 47,000 flights.

ATR has sold 688 aircraft (381 ATR 42 and 307 ATR 72) since the beginning of the program and posts a total of 12 orders from 1 January 2004 onwards.
In Europe, 47 operators currently operate 290 ATRs.

Toulouse-based ATR is the world leader in the 50 to 70-seat turboprop market. ATR is an equal partnership between Alenia Aeronautica (Finmeccanica group) and EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company).
