The Romanian Prime Minister Mr. Adrian Nastase Visits the Facilities of Eurocopter Romania

Mr. Philippe Camus, CEO of the EADS group and Mr. Jean-Paul Gut, Executive Vice President, head of EADS International, were in Brasov on Friday 23 July to welcome the Romanian Prime Minister, Mr. Adrian Nastase, on his first visit to Eurocopter Romania.

Mr. Nastase took this opportunity to see Eurocopter Romania's industrial facilities for himself, and inspect the new assembly program for the EC 135 light, twin-engine helicopter designed to meet the requirements of the Romanian government.

Mr. Nastase stopped to take a special look at an aircraft intended for the Interior Ministry. The Romanian government is planning to enlarge its current fleet of EC 135 helicopters following their selection by the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Health who are currently operating a fleet of 5 EC 135.

The industrial activity of Eurocopter Romania, a joint venture in partnership with IAR, is in full growth. Eurocopter Romania was created in 2002, and Eurocopter owns 51% of its capital. Eurocopter Romania will support and modernize Eurocopter's first generation of helicopters throughout the world, and the company, which directly employs more than 50 people, and indirectly employs more than 100 people, is currently retrofitting the Pumas of the British Ministry of Defense.

Eurocopter Romania is also actively marketing and supporting the new range of Eurocopter products in Romania and neighboring countries.
