Farnborough, 20 July 2004
Avions de Transport Regional (ATR) and Embraer today announced the conclusion of the cooperation agreement in the e-Business area and the completion of the relevant developments.
Joint working sessions aimed at the agreement were launched at the beginning of 2003 between both companies’ Customer Service and Information Technology teams. They succeeded integrating two important modules on the AEROChain platform for ATR Operators: on-line Spare parts sales and Technical Publications services.
These two features will complete ATR’s support website in operation since 2002, which is consulted by 90 percent of the ATR customers. The go-live date for availability of these two modules on the AEROChain Portal (www.aerochain.com) is planned on August 2004.
This cooperation in the field of the Customer Services is the first between both companies.
Roberto Bellino, ATR Senior Vice-President for Customer Services, said: “AEROChain is the Internet reference platform in the regional aviation market and Embraer is the ideal partner for e-Services development. Through this new tool, we will increase our already strong relationship with our customers, giving them further possibilities to operate ATR A/C at lower cost.”
"Embraer welcomes ATR and its customers at AEROChain e-market place. Due to its outstanding position in the regional aircraft industry, ATR is a key member for AEROChain,” said Irajá Ribas, Embraer Senior Vice-President - Product Support, Civil Aviation Market. “Through this initiative, Embraer reiterates its decision to turn AEROChain into a unique portal for the entire aerospace community, with infrastructure and leading technology to accommodate the needs of any supply-chain player.”
The agreement with Embraer is the departure point for future projects. With the aim to continuously improve customer service, ATR will have the opportunity to provide new services such as e-Learning (on-line training for pilots and maintenance crews) and Customized Technical Documentation for airlines, as well as many other features in the MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) and supply chain domains, all of which are already available on the AEROChain site.
ATR has sold 687 aircraft (381 ATR 42 and 306 ATR 72) since the beginning of the programme and posts a total of 11 orders since 1st January 2004. In Europe, 47 operators currently operate 290 ATRs.
Toulouse-based ATR is the world leader in the 50 to 70-seat turboprop market. ATR is an equal partnership between Alenia Aeronautica (Finmeccanica Group) and EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company).
