EADS NORTH AMERICA ANNOUNCES NOMINATION OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / VICE PRESIDENT OF INVESTOR RELATIONS

Washington D.C., 25 April 2003

EADS, one of the world’s leading defense and aerospace companies, announced on Friday, the selection of Mr. Christopher Emerson as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Investor Relations. Emerson will be joining EADS North America on May 6, in line with a management reorganization of the company at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.

As CFO and Head of EADS’ North American Investor Relations operations, Mr. Emerson will oversee all finance, accounting, treasury, capital markets, merger & acquisition activity and planning functions for the company. In addition, he will develop the financial and systems infrastructure to support the growth of EADS North America in the United States, and facilitate financial reporting policies and procedures for its subsidiaries across North America.

Ralph Crosby, Chairman and CEO of EADS North America, commented, “This is the next step to EADS’ commitment to providing the best value to our commercial and defense customers. His financial background coupled with his European experience within EADS will prove to be an asset in both expanding our American investor relations activities and streamlining EADS North America’s new financial oversight and reporting lines.”

Prior to his role with EADS North America, Mr. Emerson was Vice President of Investor Relations and Financial Communication with EADS in Munich, Germany.

Emerson began his career in 1996 with Mercedes Benz U.S. International in Alabama. As departmental controller, his focus was on planning, reporting and financial systems for Mercedes’ Alabama operations. At the beginning of 2000, he joined the controlling department of the then-DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Dasa) in Munich. In this capacity, he played an important role in the IPO and merger of the three EADS founding companies.

After the merger, he established the planning and reporting methods and processes within the newly formed company, as well as supporting the first credit ratings from Standard & Poor’s and Moody’s and the establishment of the EADS wide performance metric system. Within EADS, he also oversaw the preparation of the annual reference document, including management’s discussion and analysis of the consolidated financial statements.

Chris Emerson received his degree in International Finance from the University of Alabama. He also studied abroad at the University of Mannheim in Germany.
