EFW receives approval as Design Organisation from LBA / JAA

Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the core center for Airbus passenger to freighter conversion within EADS, has received the approval as Design Organisation from German Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) and European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA).

The approval was issued according JAR21 Subpart JA which enables EFW to design and certify aircraft modifications as well as to obtain Supplemental Type Certificates for major modifications. These design works comprise modifications of cabin interiors and cargo compartments on Airbus widebody aircraft.

The approval has been issued after EFW’s successful performance of its first own STC for modification of the main deck cargo comportment. Today’s approval allows EFW to provide its customers additional engineering and certification services.
