ATR announces sales for 4 ATR 42-500s

Athens/ oulouse, 11  October  2001

The European Consortium ATR, based in Toulouse (France), announces the signature of a sales contract for four new generation ATR 42-500s.

The 4 ATR 42-500s will be delivered in January, February, July and November 2002. The name of the customer remains undisclosed at this time.

Since the beginning of this year, ATR has sold 22 new aircraft (5 ATR 42-500s and 17 ATR 72-500s).

« In this period of economic slowdown and financial turmoil, we are extremely satisfied with this new contract » said Jean-Michel Léonard, ATR's Chief Executive Officer, « it is a clear sign for us that our products are well positioned to resist the economic impact of the September 11th attacks »

ATR is present at the yearly ERA General Assemby which takes place in Athens (Greece) between October 10-12, 2001. Since last year's ERA General Assembly in Interlaken (Switzerland), ATR has sold a total of 38 new aircraft of which 8 ATR 42-500s and 30 ATR 72-500s.
