Airbus Highlights Innovation And Career Opportunities At ILA 2008 Berlin Air Show

Toulouse, 15 May 2008

Airbus will this year again participate in the ILA Berlin Air Show from 27th May to 1st June. The leading European aircraft manufacturer will showcase one member of each of its three highly successful aircraft families: the A380, the first large ultra long-range double-decker, which will take part in the daily flying display as well as the static display, and the A330-200 and A320, which will both be visible on the static display. The A320 will feature the Airbus/DLR/Michelin-fuel-cell-system, which was successfully tested in flight in February this year – a civil aviation’s “first”.

Visitors to the ILA Air Show will be able to find out more about the entire Airbus product line on the section of the EADS stand (hall 8, No A18) dedicated to Airbus, and which highlights the A320 Family, the A330-200, the A350 and the A380 with 1/20th scale models. Airbus will also be present in the EADS chalet (05 -14) to welcome its guests.

Airbus will hold a press conference on Wednesday 28th May in press conference room A in the press centre hall 5 starting at 10:30.

Throughout the ILA 2008 week Airbus will be holding events designed to give students or recent graduates in an aerospace, engineering or an engineering-related business discipline the chance to discuss career opportunities with experts from a wide range of competency and business areas within Airbus. Until the end of 2008 Airbus intends to recruit another 500 engineers.

As an eco-efficient enterprise, Airbus provides leadership by delivering responsible solutions that address today’s concerns, so the aviation sector can continue to prosper with less impact on the environment. Airbus is the first aeronautics company in the world to have earned the ISO 14001 environmental certification for all production sites and for the entire life cycle of all products. Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Airbus is an EADS company.
