ASF and EADS have a long-term partnership. EADS is supporting the associations in terms of increased social commitment, recognizing the responsibility of being a good corporate citizen. The partnership comes quite naturaly as both, EADS and ASF, are at home in the world of aviation and are truly international.
The fact that the German unit LOG was founded in 2003 and the UK unit AWB UK (Aviation Without Borders) in 2006, was thanks to the initiative of EADS. Now, ASF has units in all four home nations of EADS: France, Germany, Spain and the UK. All four associations work with financial contributions from EADS and sometimes even use the aircraft of EADS to supply air transport where it is desperately needed.
In case of the devastating Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in September 2005 the associations and EADS cooperated in order to join forces. EADS provided helicopters, a mobile hospital and the Beluga transport aircraft, whereas the ASF units collected money and goods like blankets, cots, tents and other materials, organized the logistics and took care of the distribution in the disaster areas.
