e-Procurement

EADS has decided to build up strong e-procurement capabilities in order to smoothen and to speed up its procurement processes. To do so, EADS has set up an electronic negotiation platform based upon the technology of Portum.

The Portum’s tools to perform electronic requests for quotation and reverse auctions are already in use, allowing EADS and its suppliers to save time and money by exchanging information and negotiating contracts online via the internet.

Besides this, EADS has decided to use the support of several leading service providers in the area of electronic call for tenders and reverse auctions to support EADS in defining and performing such projects. These companies are SynerDeal and Aerohits/Goodex. For specific procurement projects these companies may contact your company to invite it to participate in a call for tender for an EADS or EADS Business Unit contract.

The tools to use electronic catalogues as a means of fulfilling the demands of the various EADS Business Units are operational. Consequently, suppliers to EADS are requested to provide their goods by means of an electronic catalogue if an when feasible.

Further Supply Chain Management tools are also being evaluated but are under the responsibility of the respective Business Units. The role of EADS Corporate Sourcing is here to focus on best practice sharing.

In order to improve its market research capabilities EADS has built up a supplier database. In future, suppliers interested in doing business with EADS will have the opportunity to provide their specific capability profile via this website and may be invited to participate in future calls for tenders.
