Founded in 1985, CRISA (Computadoras, Redes e Ingenirería, S.A.) has based its main activity in the design and manufacture of electronic equipment and software for space applications, like satellites, launchers and orbital infrastructure. Other activities include engineering projects for ground stations, defence and audiovisual sectors.

CRISA has developed more than 250 flight units for most of ESA's programmes, as in Earth observation satellites like Meteosat Second Generation, METOP or GOCE, in scientific satellites like XMM, Integral, Smart 1, Rossetta, Mars and Venus Express or Herschel/Planck, in telecommunications satellites like Artemis and Eurostar 3000, and in the Ariane 5 launcher and the future Vega. Presently, CRISA has more than 240 employees.

The experience and technological capacity acquired during all these years in the space sector has allowed CRISA to achieve a leading position in the development of control and power units for electric propulsion systems for satellites.

The main activity lines within the space sector are:

  • Avionics and Electrical Equipment: on board control and signal processing computers, digital processors, video electronics, microelectronics, launcher electronics, power subsystems, driving electronics, electric propulsion and system engineering.
  • Software development for flight and ground applications
  • Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)
  • Control Centres and Ground Stations: control and programming centres, processing and archiving centres for Earth observation data.
