About the Young Managers Conference

Aim

The EADS Young Managers Conference (YMC) was created to bring together young managers from across the company for two days of presentations and discussion of current issues related to the aerospace and defence industries. Besides being an excellent opportunity to learn from some of the key players in EADS, the YMC also provides guests with the possibility to network and exchange ideas with industry colleagues.

History

Since 1990, the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) has been accompanying the radical changes of the aerospace industry by hosting the prestigious Young Managers Conferences. It has been held annually alternating between Paris and Munich, the cities where the EADS Headquarters are located. Throughout its history, the YMC has been organised by the EADS Corporate Young Manager Programme (CYMP) trainees and has enjoyed the patronage of the EADS CEOs.

Past conference topics have included Asia and the Global Aerospace and Defence Industry (2005), Portfolio Management (2004), Crisis in Aerospace (2003), and Politics and Aerospace (2002).

Participants

The YMC invites more than one hundred young managers to take part in the conference each year; a number of external participants are also invited. The speakers are drawn from the senior staff of both EADS and external companies. Attendance is by invitation only.

Programme

Spanning two days, the conference will include presentations by the invited speakers, an ‘Interactive Game’ involving all the participants and a panel discussion. In the evening of the first day there will be a dinner for all participants.

The entire conference will be held in English.
