The focus of this year's Young Managers Conference 2005 will be Asia and will encompass a broad range of topics that concern the entire aerospace and defence industry. The spotlight will be on the opportunities, challenges, risks and consequences presented to the industry by the "emergence" of Asia.
The objective of the conference will be to analyse the current situation thus drawing conclusions and presenting strategies and market forecasts for future developments. Given the rapidly changing industrial landscape of the aerospace sector, we feel that such a discussion is particularly necessary at this time.
Opportunities, such as accessing new revenue potential from population and purchasing power growth, as well as the rapid pace of technological development in China and India will be a focal point of the conference. However, potential risks such as political and economic instability, knowledge transfer and penetration of an unknown market environment will not be neglected. There will also be the chance to examine what the aerospace and defence industry sees as its strengths and weaknesses when playing its part in the politico-economic triangle formed by the USA, Europe and Asia.
Does the Western aerospace industry have the inside knowledge to serve the booming Asian market? What challenges will the Western aerospace industry face when the Asian industry becomes independent of Western and Russian expertise and enters the market as an equal competitor?
Further topics for discussion will include the opportunities and risks of investing in Asia, as well as the strategies used by Western aerospace companies in order to adapt to local needs. What is the future of aerospace in Asia, and how does this affect the world?
