Transall C-160

These transporters for military and humanitarian missions are ideal for short- and medium-haul tasks. Following the re-definition of tasks for the Bundeswehr, they have recently also provided the long-range transport capabilities needed. Thanks to their robust landing gear combined with their short takeoff and landing capabilities, these aircraft are highly suited to missions involving the use of rough airstrips.

A collision warning system has been fitted and various steps have been taken to improve the aircraft's self-protection. The aircraft's intercom system has also been modernized. An autonomous navigation and flight control system has been retrofitted. Furthermore, a fire warning system and a battery temperature monitoring unit has been installed.
