EADS in Beijing 2008

Large events such as the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 call for clear communications. Achieving real security needs more than gates, guns, and guards. It also requires the best possible organisation, and that calls for special communications.

World class events require world class communications to keep things running smoothly and safely.

Almost 90,000 users relied on Asia's biggest TETRA network to provide them with secure and seamless communication services during Beijing Games.

Communication was provided by the Beijing Government Shared Radio Network - also called JustTop Network - supplied by EADS. The network covers all the event venues and the entire 17,000 km2 area of Beijing, with its nearly 14 million people.

Record-breaking traffic

The day of opening ceremony saw around 1,600,000 group calls. In all, around 17 million calls were handled during the Games. The JustTop Network supplied by EADS managed this record-breaking traffic without difficulty, enabling the events to run smoothly throughout the Games period.
