What is TETRA?TETRA is an open standard for digital professional mobile radio (PMR). Like GSM, the TETRA standard enables manufacturers to produce terminals that function in another manufacturer’s network. Unlike GSM, though, TETRA has been designed for authorities and other professionals. Compatible productsAll TETRA manufacturers are working to make their products compatible. This allows customers to purchase radios and infrastructure in an open and competitive market. Today, more than 15 manufacturers offer TETRA networks, TETRA radios, or both.
