EADS North America today announced the appointment of Air Force Major General (Ret.) Silas (Si) R. Johnson, Jr. as the Director of Marketing Advanced Tanker Programs for EADS North America. In this position, General Johnson will be responsible for overseeing corporate marketing strategies and activities related to Advanced Tanker Programs. Gen Johnson will be located at the EADS North America headquarters in Arlington, Virginia and will report directly to Lieutenant General (Ret.) Charles Coolidge, Jr., Vice President of Air Force Programs for EADS North America.

Major General (Ret.) Johnson had a distinguished 34 year career with the US Air Force. He retired from active service in 2002. Prior to joining EADS North America, Gen. Johnson was the Vice President, Global Strike Programs for Burdeshaw Associates Ltd., an international services company which focuses on Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security programs; and the President of SRJ Consulting, Inc. Preceding these positions Gen. Johnson was the Chief of the United States Military Training Mission in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Gen. Johnson’s service in the US Air Force included positions as Commander, US Air Force Mobility Warfare at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Vice Commander, 21st Air Force at McGuire Air Force Base (AFB) in New Jersey, Commander, 552nd Air Control Wing at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma, and Commander, 93rd Bomb Wing at Castle AFB in California. Additionally, Gen. Johnson has held various staff positions in the Pentagon and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Gen. Johnson holds a master’s degree in Personnel Administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Miami, Florida.
